Overview

The Technical University of Munich is one of the best universities in Europe with four locations in Bavaria (Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan, and Straubing). It was started by Ludwig II in 1868. The university is affiliated with TU9, Germany’s most respected integrated society of technical universities.

University’s faculties are divided into four campuses. The main Munich campus spans three regions and includes the departments of Architecture, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, and Medical Clinics. A second campus is located in Garching and has faculties in chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematics.

As of 2019, TUM has over 42,700 students in its graduate and undergraduate programs, of which 13,858 are international students. It manages 10,829 staff and 594 professors. The scientist is divided into 15 departments and 13 research centers.

This university is one of the best research-oriented universities in Europe and Germany. TUM has worked with well-known companies such as BMW, Audi, and Siemens to transfer knowledge sources into the economy. TUM staff includes 17 Nobel Prize winners, 22 Leibniz Prize winners, and 24 IEEE Fellows.

The University has approximately 175 international partnerships with various companies in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Australia. ETH Zurich, Stanford University, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, University of Melbourne, and some IITs in India to name a few. He is also a partner of LACTOSE, an international network for top-level lecturers and students from the best universities in Asia and Europe. We also partner with Europe’s top Industrial Managers (TIME Network).
